More Flowers

This is another bulb that I planted a couple of years ago, that I don't remember the name! This is the first time it has bloomed, and it smells so good! It has a vanilla, plus something else, scent. It looks kind of forlorn, as it's doesn't like the afternoon sun. I will to move it once it dies back. I will be moving my Naked Lady bulbs to the same area, where they will get afternoon shade--I think they will thrive there. This bulb may not look pretty, but the scent is heavenly!

Can you guess what this flower will look like once it opens? Or, what color it will be? It is a real beauty, and it's scent is amazing! I will post a picture when it opens fully.

Unhappy Flowers

We had a beautiful couple of weeks of spring weather before our recent week of rain and hail. Spring fever was in the air, so I bought some flowers to put in the yard. They look a bit bedraggled now because of several days of dark clouds, rain and hail. I hope to get them planted by the end of this week, and then maybe they will be happy! A week of sun, and 70', has been predicted!

Vegetating in the Garden

Sometimes, especially at the end of working several hours in the garden, I just sit and look at what's growing.








It might be silly, but I enjoy just looking at my vegetables.







At this time my vegetables are still relatively small, because I got my garden in late. I had several broccoli, cauliflower and brussels sprouts from early this spring that were still growing--they had gone in late, too!






But, I can at least admire my flowers. There are some that are pretty and some that smell good, I like them all.








They grow mostly on their own, without much help from me (except for a little fertilizer), because my focus is on the veggies. These pictures are a few of the flowers that are blooming in my backyard now.
